BEAUFORT, SC - Joseph “Joe” Robert Somerton 64, passed away on December 7, 2015 due to an illness.
Joe was born in Cheektowaga, New York and then moved to the south where he currently resided. Joe served four years in the United States Marine Corp and then graduated from the University of South Carolina.
Joe was a wonderful artist, from singing, playing the drums to painting. Anything he put in his hands he would make turn to magic. His true passion was to wake up early on the weekends, plan the day, make breakfast, and head out with the kids.
Joe is survived by his wife Donna Somerton and his beloved children Jessica, Jason, Austin and Lauren. He also has many grandchildren and his wonderful sister, Sandy.
His funeral service, with full military honors, will be on December 28, 2015 at 10:00 am at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
